E-Mail this report to a friend

Forensic expert Dr P Chandrashekaran is one person who is extremely happy over the Supreme Court verdict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

Dr Chandrashekaran, who lives in Bangalore, was the key figure among the forensic experts who were involved in the investigation to identify the assassins. He was the first to get to the fact that the killer was a woman.

He later used ultra-modern techniques to confirm that the woman, Dhanu, had detonated the belt bomb around her body which took the life of the former prime minister.

Dr Chandrashekaran also reconstructed the image of the human bomb , Dhanu, by using a life-size model and computer simulations, and submitted his 100-page report to the Special Investigation Team of the CBI which probed the case.

An excited Dr Chandrashekaran said he was happy that the curtain had finally come down on the case and he could now tell the world about the innovative techniques used by him to identify the killer.
