Kuwait calls it 'condemnable terrorist act'

E-Mail this report to a friend

Kuwait has strongly condemned the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane, describing it as a 'condemnable terrorist act'.

In a statement to the Kuwait news agency, minister of state for foreign affairs Sulaiman Majid Al-Shaheen said Kuwait, which was a victim of such terrorist acts, knew very well the gravity of such acts, which contravened international laws and conventions and were also against all religions.

Al-Shaheen expressed the hope that the hijacking crisis would end peacefully at the earliest without any harm to passengers.

The issue also came up for discussion during Al-Shaheen's meeting with Indian ambassador to Kuwait, Prabhu Dayal, when the Kuwaiti minister visited the Indian embassy to sign the condolence book to mourn the death of former President S D Sharma.
