 United Breweries subsidiary proposes investment in Inertia Industries
 United Breweries Ltd. has informed BSE that United Breweries (Holdings) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company has proposed to invest up to 14% in the equity capital of Inertia Industries Ltd. having breweries at Haryana and Maharashtra.
United Breweries will shortly enter into brewing and distribution and marketing arrangements with Inertia Industries Ltd.

 Consortium Finance to appoint KPMG for suggesting swap ratio
 A meeting of the Board of Consortium Finance Ltd. will be held on October 3, 2000 to consider the appointment of KPMG India Private Ltd. for suggesting the share swap ratio for the proposed merger of the Company with Magma Leasing Ltd.

 Pantaloon Retail FY 2000 net profit up by 109.87%
 Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd. (formerly Pantaloon Fashions (India) Ltd.) has posted a net profit of Rs 49.21 million for the year ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 23.45 million for the same period last year. Net sales for the year ended June 30, 2000 are at Rs 1354.28 million as compared to Rs 1037.65 million in FY 99.
Other income for the year ended June 30, 2000 is at Rs 10.79 million as compared to Rs 9.56 million in the financial year ended June 30, 99.The Board has recommended dividend @10% on pro-rata basis on equity shares.

 VSNL fixes record date for Bonus Issue
 Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. has fixed the record date as November 16, 2000 for the purpose of issue of bonus shares. The equity shares of the company will be traded on a cum-bonus basis upto October 27, 2000 and on an ex-bonus basis from October 30, 2000.
At the Annual General Meeting of VSNL held on September 26, 2000 the shareholders had approved issue of Bonus shares at the rate of 2(two) new shares for 1(one) existing share

 BSE imposes Additional Volatility Margin on 40 scrips
 BSE has imposed Additional Volatility Margin (AVM) on the following Scrips for settlement No. 28/2000-2001 commencing on 03 October 2000. AVM would be computed on the net outstanding Purchase or Sales positions as may be applicable including carryforward positions at the end of day at the rates given below. The rates of AVM would be remain unchanged for the entire settlement.

 Mandsaur Ferro factory/building ceased by MPEB
 Mandsaur Ferro Alloys Ltd. has informed BSE that, Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board has ceased the factory/building and machinery of the company against their claim for dues. The dues claimed by the MPEB are under dispute. The company has taken resort to legal remedy and the matter stands still unresolved.

 Haryana Breweries to increase authorised capital
 The Board of Directors of Haryana Breweries Ltd has decided as under, subject to necessary approvals:
1. Increase the authorised capital from Rs.52.50 million to Rs.80/- million
2. To make a preferential allotment of equity shares for an amount of Rs.50 million to the holding company and/or to subsidiaries
