Market@September 28: Day's report

Values remained extremely volatile on Thursday. The software stocks remained weak in the first half, select software stocks witness recovery in the second half.

During the last half and hour, Global Tele and Himachal showed a smart recovery. Sterlite meanwhile dipped nearly 15 per cent. Pentamedia also lost more than 5 per cent. Other stocks like SSI, Silverline, Infosys and SSI also showed a negative close.

Sentiment for the non-software stocks however was weak. HLL, ITC, MTNL, ACC, L&T and Ranbaxy dipped sharply. HLL dipped to a 15-month low of Rs 198.50.
