Dabur clarifies on news item

With reference to the newsitem "Pharma Firms Ink pact with Dept of Biotech" appearing in a financial daily Dabur India Ltd has informed BSE that the company has not entered into any agreement with the Department of Biotechnology for developing and marketing Vaccines for tumor related disease. Dabur India has already launched few years ago anti cancer drug by the name of Intaxatel and Paclitaxel for the treatment of cancerous tumor. The company is working on a new anti cancer molecule and got the approval of Drug Controller General of India phase 1 clinical trials about a year ago.

Dealings in Indo French Biotech to resume

BSE had advised Members of the Exchange not to deal in the securities of Indo French Biotech Enterprise Ltd because of non-compliance of listing requirements regarding intimation of dates of closure of Register of Members/Record Dates to the Exchange. The dealings in the securities of the company can now be resumed with effect from September 26, 2000.

The Board of Directors of Usha Beltron Ltd has approved acquisition of the wire rope business of Burnton Shaw Ltd. UK a division of Carclo Plc. of UK in an all cash deal of GBP 1.28 million. For this purpose, company is forming a joint venture with Carclo plc. Usha Beltron Ltd will hold 80% in the joint venture while Carclo plc will hold the balance 20%.
