 Wipro files registration statement for public offering of ADR in US
 Wipro Ltd. has informed BSE that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering a proposed public offering of 2,750,000 American Depository Shares representing 2,750,000 equity shares (excluding the underwriters option to purchase an additional 412,500 American Depository Shares representing 412,500 equity shares to cover overallotments if any).
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Credit Suisse First Boston and Banc of America Securities will be the managing underwriters of the offering.
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.

 Tata Advanced Material to issue equity shares to Tata Industries
 At a hearing of Tata Advanced Materials Ltd. held on September 20, 2000 before the Appellate Authority for Industrial and Financial Reconstructions (AAFIR) the AAFIR has passed an order declaring that Tata Advanced Materials Ltd. stands outside the provisions of Sick Industrial Companies (Special Provisions) Act 1985 (SICA) following approval of the scheme proposed by the company. The scheme approved by AAIFR includes conversion of intercorporate deposits of Rs 15.80 crores from Tata Industries Ltd. to Tata Advanced Materials Ltd. into equity shares at a face value of Rs 10 each and Tata Advanced Materials Ltd. has been directed to issue shares dated September 20, 2000 to Tata Industries Ltd. in relaxation of the provisions of the companies Act 1956 stock exchange requirements and any other laws.

 Subex Systems to consider ESOP
 Subex Systems Ltd. has informed BSE that an Extra Ordinary General Meeting of shareholders of the company on October 30, 2000 for transacting the following special business:
1. Appointment of Mr. Bala K Chandran as Director
2. Consideration of ESOP scheme-II earmarking 5,00,000 equity shares to be offered to employees including Directors of the company and of holding/subsidiary companies

 Thomas Cook clarifies on deal with Travel Corporation
 Thomas Cook (I) Ltd. has informed BSE with respect to the acquisition/purchase of equity shares of Travel Corporation (India) Ltd. the ongoing negotiations with respect to the captioned subject have been discontinued and consequently it is unlikely that the transaction will be consummated.

 SRG Infotec Board approves acquisition of stake in V-Soft, EL Net
 The Board of Directors of SRG Infotec Ltd. at its meeting held today (September 21, 2000) has approved acquisition of 50% stake in:-
1. V-Soft Pvt Ltd. a leading ten year old Multilingual Software company
2. ELNet 3L Pvt Ltd. more famous by its unit EL Net 3L Academy a higher end computer education provider associated with IIT Kharagpur and having more than 100 centres operating and mode of imparting the said consideration
Expansion and restructuring program of the company was discussed at length in the meeting and for operational convenience Mr Ashok Agarwal Vice Chairman was authorised to decide the modalities in this respect and to further explore and negotiate other proposals available to the company.

 Narottam Sahgal resigns from Directorship of Ballarpur Industries
 Mr Narottam Sahgal has resigned from the Directorship of Ballarpur Industries Ltd. wef September 15, 2000. Also ICICI Ltd. has appointed Mr Sandeep Bakshi as its Nominee Director of Ms Ramni Nirula.

 Citicorp Securities FY 2000 net profit at Rs 25.10 million
 Citicorp Securities & Investments Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 25.10 million for the year ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 6.40 million in the same period last year. Income from operations is at Rs 417.30 million for FY 2000 as compared to Rs 133.50 million in FY 99. Other income for the year ended June 30, 2000 is at Rs 3.4 million as compared to Rs 8/- million in the same period last year.
The Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of 12.5% to be paid out of the surplus in the profit and loss account. The financials reflect the significant progress the company has made in transitioning itself to an IT-enabled transaction processing company. It now serves customers in India and a number of countries overseas.

 BFL Software defers ADR issue
 BFL Software Ltd. has informed BSE with reference to the American Depository Receipt (ADR) by the company taking into consideration of the prevailing situation in the capital markets the company has decided to defer the offering for the time being.
