Market@September 20: Day's report

The software stocks showed extremely volatile movements today. Himachal was the wildest one, After a firm open in the morning, it hit the lower circuit at 8 per cent in the mis-session and in the second half, it recovered sharply and gained nearly 8 per cent at close.

Zee Tele also remained in demand and gained nearly 8 per cent. Other stocks like Global Tele, SSI, Satyam Comp, DSQ Soft and Dig Equipment also gained 2 per cent each.

The sentiment for the non-software stocks remained dull. Stocks like Reliance, ITC, MTNL, Tisco, Rel Petrol, ACC, ICICI, SBI and L&T showed a positive close.

Sensex up 61 points at 4325, Nifty up 29 points at 1346.
