Market@September 13: Day's report

Record volumes at BSE and NSE. Barring Global Tele, the sentiment for other tech stocks remained extremely weak. Digital Equipment dipped nearly 8 per cent. Himachal, DSQ Software, SSI, Silverline and Satyam also fell sharply.

In the non-software segment, ITC remained firm. Hindalco also gained over 9 per cent. Other stocks like Reliance, L&T, ACC and SBI remained under pressure.

Sensex down 60 points at 4703. Nifty down 11 points at 1456.
