Market@September 5: Day's report

Stocks like Rolta, Aptech, Silverline, SSI, and Sterlite remained firm. while key software stocks like Infosys, Wipro, Zee Tele and Pentamedia failed to attract gains.

Rolta and Aptech gained 6 per cent each with all time high volumes. Rolta features among the top ten traded stocks.

In the non-software segment, stocks like ICICI and Bhel gained 7 per cent each while Reliance, HLL, ITC, L&T and ACC showed negative close. Trading volumes remained high on both the exchanges.

Sensex down 3 points at 4599, Nifty up 0.5 point at 1428.
