 SB&T International Q2 net profit up by 52.67%
 SB&T International Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 22.65 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 14.83 million in the same period last year. Net sales for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 are at Rs 266.02 million as compared to Rs 173.85 million in the quarter ended September 30, 99.
Other income for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 is at Rs 0.03 million as compared to Rs 1.87 million in the same period last year. The company has set up a Wholly Owned Subsidiary - S.B. & T. Holding Ltd., Mauritius for e-commerce & overseas retail business.

 Monnet Industries FY 2000 net profit up by 12.65%
 Monnet Industries Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 44.04 million for the financial year ended June 30, 200 as compared to Rs 39.09 million in the same period last year. Net sales for FY 2000 are at Rs 1081.08 million as compared to Rs 1022.41 million in FY 99. Other income has fallen from Rs 33.92 million in FY 99 to Rs 12.98 million in FY 2000.

 Lock Out at Madura Coats Tuticorin mill
 Madura Coats Ltd. has informed BSE pursuant to an illegal strike by the workmen in the Tuticorin mill and continuing acts of intimidation, provocation threat and violence it has become impossible to carry on normal activities in the mill. The management of the company has therefore declared a lock out of the Tuticorin mill wef the first shift of October 9, 2000. The lock out in the mill covers all workmen in the worker and assistant cadres.

 K V Bhanujan ceases to be Director of GNFC
 Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co Ltd. has informed BSE that Shri K V Bhanujan ceased to be a Director of the company vide resignation. The date of the aforesaid change is September 30, 2000.

 Melstar Information Q2 net profit up by 29.59%
 Melstar Information Technologies Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 21.90 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 16.90 million in the same period last year. Net sales have increased from Rs 76.60 million in SQ 99 to Rs 159.20 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2000. Other income for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 is at Rs 2.60 million as compared to Rs 1.20 million in the same period last year.
The Company has obtained the shareholders approval today (October 9, 2000) for the recently announced acquisitions in UK and US namely Linkhand Ltd. U K the non swiss business of Itc Consulting GMBH at U K and the balance shareholding of Global Systems Development Inc, U S.

 G V Films Q2 net profit at Rs 27.12 million
 G V Films Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 27.12 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 0.76 million for the same period last year. Net Sales for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 are at Rs 46.40 million as compared to Rs 6.22 million for the same period last year.
Other income for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 is at Rs 0.05 million as compared to nil in the same period last year.

 Hi-Tech Gears fixes record date for Bonus Issue
 Hi-Tech Gears Ltd has fixed the record date as October 31, 2000 for the issue of Bonus shares. The company had declared bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 (one bonus share for every existing share held). The equity shares of the company will be traded on a cum bonus basis upto October 13, 2000 and on an ex-bonus basis from October 16,2000.

 The Board of Directors of Binani Industries Limited has approved, subject to necessary approvals, the spin-off of the Zinc Division of the company to a separate subsidiary, viz Binani Zinc Ltd. under the scheme of arrangement. As a part of every shareholder of Binani Industries Ltd will get one share of Binani Zinc Ltd. free of cost against every 5 shares of the company held.

 Bajaj Auto Akurdi plant restores 6 day working
 Bajaj Auto Ltd has informed BSE that, company's Akurdi Plant which had adopted a 5 days working week for some of its production shops since June, 2000 to cope up with high stock levels, has decided to restore a 6 day week from September 29, 2000.

 BSE imposes Additional Volatility Margin on 35 scrips
 BSE has imposed Additional Volatility Margin (AVM) on the following scrips for settlement No.29/2000-2001 commencing on 09 October 2000, .AVM would be computed on the net outstanding Purchase or Sales positions as may be applicable including carryforward positions at the end of day at the rates given below. The rates of AVM would remain unchanged for the entire settlement.
