Market@October 4: Day's report

Market opened on a weak note but recovered in the second half of trading. Pentamedia and DSQ Soft triggered the rally. Infosys also showed a smart recovery from day's low.

At close Pentamedia gained more than 5 per cent, Dig Equipment and DSQ Soft were up more than 2 per cent each. Pentamedia attracted an all-time high volume 12.19 million shares.

Non-software stocks were mixed. MTNL, ITC and HLL did well while ICICI and L&T were down.

Sensex up 23 points at 4159, Nifty up 13 points at 1295.
