Market@November 16: Day's report

The software stocks showed a mix trend. While stocks like Himachal remained in demand, stocks like SSI and Silverline attracted strong selling pressure.

With a gain of more than 5 per cent Himachal was the main gainer. Silverline remained under pressure. Global Tele however managed to show a positive close.

In the non-software segment, stocks from the banking sector attracted good buying. ICICI Bank, Centurion Bank, J&K Bank, and IndusInd Bank gained smartly.

Cement stocks lost substantially. ACC and L&T were the major losers. HLL, ITC, Ranbaxy and MTNL also remained under pressure.

Sensex down 44 points at 3902, Nifty down 13 points at 1234.

Himachal, ICICI Bank, Crompton Greaves, Infotech Ent, Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Centurion Bank.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
