 Oriental Hotels declares 55% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Oriental Hotels Ltd at its meeting held on March 28, 2000, has declared an interim dividend of 55% (Rs 5.50/- per share) for the financial year ending March 31, 2000.

 Reliance Capital declares 28% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Reliance Capital Ltd at its meeting held on March 28, 2000, has declared an interim dividend of 28% (Rs 2.80/- per share) for the financial year ending March 31,2000.

 Larsen & Toubro declares 65% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Larsen & Toubro Ltd at its meeting held on March 28, 2000, has declared an interim dividend of 65% (Rs 6.50/- per share) for the financial year ending March 31,2000. The record date for the aforesaid payment has been fixed at May 08, 2000.

 Wipro plans ADR/GDR issue, to acquire companies abroad
 The Board of Directors of Wipro Ltd has decided
1.To Issue Equity Capital overseas in the form of ADRs/GDRs and seek overseas listing of the same. The amount of the issue is not likely to exceed US$500 million.
2.The Company also plans to issue ADR/GDR linked stock options to employees of the company its subsidiaries, associates etc upto an amount not exceeding US$150 million.
3.The Company plans to make an application for blanket approval to the RBI for acquisition of companies abroad by investing amounts not exceeding
a )Upto US$500 million funded through cash/stock swaps prior to the issue of ADRs
b) Upto US$10 billion using funds acquired through the ADR issue and /or a combination of cash/stock swap deals to fund the acquisitions.

 Bajaj Auto plans buyback
 The Board of Directors of Bajaj Auto Ltd at its meeting held on March 28, 2000 decided to buy-back 15% of the paid up share capital of the Company (numbering approximately 18 million shares )at a maximum price of Rs 450 per share. The buy-back will be financed from the surplus funds of the Company. The buy-back proposal will be put up for the approval of shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.
The Company can utilise upto 25% of the paid up capital and free reserves for the buy-back of shares as per SEBI regulations. The paid up capital and free reserves as at March 31, 1999 was Rs 27000 million. The exact number of shares which can be bought back and the exact percentage of the paid up capital will depend on the paid up capital and free reserves as at March 31, 2000.

 Coromandel Fertilisers declares 55% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Coromandel Fertilisers Ltd at its Board meeting held on March 28, 2000 has declared an interim dividend of 55%(Rs 5.50/- per share) and the record date for the aforesaid payment is May 9, 2000.

 B K Duplex to expand manufacturing capacity
 The Board of Directors of B K Duplex Board Ltd at its board meeting held on March 28, 2000 has decided to expand the manufacturing capacity from 40 TPD to 90 TPD for the manufacture of Coated Duplex Board at Ludhiana. The expansion involves a capital outlay of Rs 124.82 million which is proposed to be financed through a combination of Equity and Debt.

 Gujarat Heavy Chemicals declares 12.5% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd has declared an interim dividend of 12.5%(Rs 1.25/- per share) and the record date for the aforesaid payment is May 10, 2000.

 Uniworth Textiles Board approves Reduction of share capital
 The Board of Directors of Uniworth Textiles Ltd at its meeting held on March 27, 2000 has approved the following:
1. Reduction in Paid up value of equity shares from Rs 10/- per share to Rs 2.50 per share and consolidation of 4 such reduced shares into one fully paid up equity share of Rs 10/- each.
2. Reduction of paid up value of preference share from Rs 30/- per share to Rs 10/- each and simultaneously conversion of the reduced preference share of Rs 10/- each to one equity share of Rs 10/- each fully paid up, in full satisfaction of the shareholders claims.
Correspondingly the paid up value of equity share capital as at March 31, 1999 stands reduced to Rs 180,750,000/- divided into 18,075,000 equity shares of Rs 10/- each.

 Tata Yodogawa declares 32.5 % interim dividend
 At its meeting held today (March 28,2000) the Board of Directors of Tata Yodogawa Ltd has declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.25/- per equity share of Rs 10/- paid up. The record date for the aforesaid dividend is April 27, 2000.

 Aarti Drugs declares 8 % interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Aarti Drugs Ltd at its meeting held on March 28, 2000 has declared an interim dividend of 8%(0.80 Paise per share).

 Emami declares 20 % interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Emami Ltd at its meeting held today (March 28, 2000), has declared an interim dividend of 20% (Rs 2/- per share). The Board of Directors has decided to keep the Register of Members and Transfer Register closed from May 9, 2000 to May 12, 2000 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of payment of this dividend.

 Deepak Nitrite declares 25% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Deepak Nitrite Ltd at its meeting held today (March 28, 2000) has declared an interim dividend of 25% (Rs 2.5/- per share) for the year ended March 31, 2000. The interim dividend payment will absorb Rs 14.375 million excluding the Corporate Dividend Tax.

 Gordon Herbert plans overseas subsidiary, name change proposed
 The Board of Directors of New Delhi based Gordon Herbert (India) Ltd at its meeting held on March 27, 2000 has besides a reshuffle of the Board of Directors has decided the following:
1. To change the name of company to "E Service (India) Ltd". The name change is subject to the approval of the ROC, Uttar Pradesh and the shareholders of the company.
2. To set up a wholly owned subsidiary in the USA to carry on the business of the Company.

 Munjal Showa postpones Board meeting
 Munjal Showa Ltd has informed the BSE that the Board meeting which was to be held on March 29, 2000 to consider the recommendation of interim dividend for the financial year 1999-2000 is now postponed to April 1, 2000.

 Ruby Mills declares 20% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of The Ruby Mills Ltd at its meeting held on March 27,2000 declared an interim dividend of 20% (Rs 2/- per share) for the current year ending March 31,2000. The Register of Members and the Share Transfer books of the company will remain closed from May 9 to May 10 (both days inclusive).

 BASF interim dividend at Rs 4/- per share
 The Board of Directors of BASF India Ltd at its meeting held on March 28, 2000, has declared an interim dividend of 40% (Rs 4/- per share) for the financial year ending March 31,2000. The said dividend will absorb Rs 97 million. The record date for the aforesaid payment has been fixed at April 10, 2000.

 Action Financial declares 5% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Action Financial Services (I) Ltd at its meeting held on March 27,2000 has declared an interim dividend of 5% on the paid up capital of the company. The Board has fixed May 9, 2000 as the record date for the payment of the aforesaid interim dividend.

 Multi-Arc Board approves preferential issue
 The Board of Multi-Arc Ltd has agreed in principle to issue equity shares to a strategic investor on preferential basis. The issue is however subject to the approval of the members.

 The BSE has informed that a Special Margin of 25% has been imposed on the under mentioned scrips with effect from March 28, 2000.

 Pankaj Capfin increases stake in Pankaj Polymers
 Pankaj Polymers Ltd has informed BSE that, Pankaj Capfin Ltd., a group company, has acquired 500,000 equity shares of the company by way of transfer. Pankaj Capfin Ltd. now holds 9.91% (500,300 shares) of the total equity of the company.

 Yuvraj International to commence IT business, proposes preferential issue at Rs 60/- per share
 The Board of Directors of Yuvraj International Ltd has decided to Commence business relating to information technology. For this the Board proposes to amend the object clause of the company. The Board has also proposed to allot 330,000 equity shares of Rs.10/- each at a premium of Rs.50/- per share to Yuvraj Industries Ltd.

 Enam Securities acquires 477,400 shares of Munjal Showa
 Enam Securities Pvt. Ltd. has informed BSE that, it has purchased 477,400 shares (5.9675% of the issued, subscribed paid up capital) of the company on 21.03.2000 through The Stock Exchange, Mumbai.

 Unimin India SBPF division at Daman commences commercial production
 Unimin India Ltd has started commercial production in its SBPF Division situated at Daman w.e.f. 16.03.2000.

 Syncom Formulations planning preferential issue to FIIs/FIs
 Syncom Formulations (India) Ltd has informed that, it is in the process of approaching Financial Institution(s)/ FIIs for preferential allotment of equity shares including premium to raise funds up to Rs.150 million.

 Shree Durga and Salasar Industrial proposes to acquire stake in Kilburn Reprographics
 Kilburn Reprographics Ltd has informed the BSE that Shree Durga Agencial Ltd. has proposed to acquire 1,500,000 equity shares of the company. This will enhance their total holding to 2,096,925 equity shares (34.95%). Salasar Industrial Services Ltd. has proposed to acquire 7,00,000 equity shares (11.66%) of the company.

 Rollatainers to consider Rights Issue
 The Board meeting of Rollatainers Ltd is scheduled on March 31, 2000 to consider issue of shares on Rights basis.

 ICICI to redeem US $ 200 million FCCBs
 ICICI Ltd had issued 2.5 % Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds aggregating US $ 200 million in February 1994. Since the option to convert the FCCBs has not been exercised the company will redeem the said Bonds on April 3, 2000.

 Fire at VXL Instruments Bangalore factory
 A fire accident has occurred at VXL Instruments Ltd's 100% EOU factory at Bangalore on March 26, 2000. The accident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. While the extent of damage is being estimated, the company is making alternative arrangements to keep its overseas customers supplied from its domestic unit in the Electronics City.

 Hiran Orgochem Board approves issue of 1 million shares on preferential basis
 The Board of Directors of Hiran Orgochem Ltd at its meeting held on March 27,2000, has decided to issue one million equity shares of Rs 10/-each on preferential basis. The shares shall be issued at a price of Rs 11.10 per share or at a price as near thereto as the Board may think fit. The issue price shall however be in accordance with the SEBI guidelines on preferential issue of shares.

 DCM board meeting on March 29, 2000
 The Board of Directors of DCM Ltd has convened a board meeting on March 29,2000 to consider the "Scheme of Merger/Amalgamation" between DCM Data Systems Ltd and DCM Ltd.

 Aurobindo Pharma declares 50% interim
 The Board of Directors of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd at its meeting held on March 27, 2000, has declared an interim dividend of 50% on the equity shares of the company for the year ended March 31, 2000. The record date of ascertaining the names of eligible shareholders is May 20, 2000.
