Market@July 28: Day's report

Except Global Tele and Himachal the sentiment for other software stocks remained negative. Global Tele gained 13 per cent with all time high volumes of 55 lakh shares. Himachal remained strong in the first half, but showed a decline in the second half. Other software stocks like Pentamedia, Satyam Comp, DSQ Soft and Silverline showed negative close.

Meanwhile, the non-software segment remained dull. Stocks like ITC, SBI, and L&T showed marginal gains. The trading volume were quite high on both exchanges.

Sensex down 4 points at 4277, Nifty down 2 points at 1336.
