 United Western Bank Q1 net up by 15.05%
 United Western Bank Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 127.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 111/- million in the quarter ended June 30,99.The interest income for JQ 2000 is up by 13.17% at Rs 1178.10 million. Other income has grown from Rs 158.80 million in JQ 99 to Rs 232.40 million in JQ 2000. The provisions & contingencies have increased from Rs 103.30 million in JQ 99 to Rs 120/- million in the quarter ended June 30, 2000.

 Ram Informatics completes all formalities relating to acquisition of Aravali Technologies
 Ram Informatics Ltd. has informed the BSE that it has completed all procedural/legal formalities relating to acquisition of M/s Aravali Technologies Inc, California USA in accordance with the approvals obtained from FIPB Government of India and RBI Mumbai.

 Honda Siel Power Q1 net profit at Rs 50.2 million, sales up by 4.82%
 Honda Siel Power Products Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 50.2 million on a turnover of Rs 476.5 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 51.3 million and operating income of Rs 454.6 million for the same period in the previous year. Depreciation for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 was Rs 12.9 million as against Rs 11.1 million in JQ 99.

 BSE imposes Additional Volatility Margin on 34 scrips
 BSE has informed the members of the exchange that Additional Volatility Margin (AVM) has been imposed on the following Scrips for settlement No. 17/2000-2001 commencing on 17 July 2000 , AVM would be computed on the net outstanding Purchase or Sales positions as may be applicable including carryforward positions at the end of day at the rates given below. The rates of AVM would be remain unchanged for the entire settlement.

 Geometric Software Q1 net profit up by 61.76%, sales rise 42.34%
 Geometric Software Solutions Co. Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 17.65 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 reflecting a 61376% growth compared to Rs 10.91 million reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The sales for the quarter were Rs 87.54 million as against Rs 61.5 million in JQ 99. The personnel costs correspondingly increased from Rs 23.75 million in JQ 99 to Rs 35.53 million in JQ 2000. The depreciation charge for the quarter rose 152.79% from Rs 4.07 million in JQ 99 to Rs 10.29 million in JQ 2000.
As in the case of previous year, during the quarter also, the worldwide sales & marketing operations of the company were handled through its wholly owned subsidiary, Geometric Software Solutions, Inc. (GSSI) in the USA. For the quarter ended 30th June 2000, the total revenue of GSSI amounted to US$ 309,148 equivalent to Rs 13.78 million with a net profit of US$ 18,452 equivalent to Rs 0.82 million. The revenue of GSSI includes US$ 264,475 equivalent to Rs 11.79 million which is reflected in the financial results of the company as sales & marketing expenses.

 BSE to resume dealings in 4 scrips
 Members of the Bombay Stock Exchange were advised not to deal in the securities of undermentioned companies because of non-compliance of listing requirements regarding intimation of dates of closure of Register of Members/Record Dates to the Exchange.  CG Igarshi Motors net profit rises 49%, sales 53.46%
 CG Igarshi Motors Ltd has announced a 495 increase in the net profits and a 53.46% growth in the operating income for the quarter ended June 30, 2000. The company reported a net profit of Rs 14.69 million as against Rs 9.85 million in JQ 99. The sales and income from operations for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 were Rs 174.23 million as against Rs 113.53 million in the same period of the last year. The interest expenditure for the quarter was Rs 7.54 million (JQ 99 Rs 4.59 million) and the depreciation charge for the quarter was Rs 5.78 million compared to Rs 4.27 million in JQ 99.

 BFL Software Q1 net profit slides 43.63%, sales up by 39.4%
 BFL Software Ltd has reported a 43.63% decline in the net profits for the quarter ended June 30, 2000. The company reported sales of Rs 395.72 million reflecting a decent growth of 39.4% compared to Rs 283.87 million reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The net profits for the quarter were Rs 23.71 million as against Rs 42.06 million recorded in JQ 99. The depreciation for the June quarter 2000 were Rs 35.21 million, 89% higher compared to Rs 18.63 million charged for JQ 99. The administrative expenditure rose 76.16% from Rs 35 million in JQ 99 to Rs 61.65 million in JQ 2000.
The operating profits as a percentage of total income declined from 21.41% in JQ 99 to 14.9% in JQ 2000. The profit after tax as a percentage of total income was also lower at 5.84% against 14.3% reported in JQ 99.
