 BSE imposes Additional Volatility margin on 85 scrips

 Mahindra Ugine trims net loss by 41%, sales growth at 14%
 Mahindra ugine Steel Company Ltd has reported a net loss of Rs 157.2 million as against loss of Rs 267.32 million reported in the previous year. the sales for the year was 2731.25 million, representing a growth of 14.33% over Rs 2388.98 million worth sales registered in the last fiscal. Loss for the year 1999-2000 has been arrived after writing off deferred revenue expenditure of Rs 46.88 million (previous year Rs 56.38 million).

 Other income help Essar Oil post 32.4% rise in net profits, sales decline 3%
 Essar Oil Ltd has reported a 32.4% growth in the net profits for the year ended March 31, 2000. The company recorded a net profit of Rs 250.5 million on a total income of Rs 2619 million. Out of the total income, Rs 320.1 million was from other sources (FY 99 Rs 85.1 million). The sales for the year were Rs 2298.9 million representing a 2.83% decline compared to Rs 2365.9 million in FY 99. According to the company the lower income/profit is mainly due to the reduced activities in the offshore construction business. The company expects its refinery project to go on stream in the last quarter of 2001.

 MRPL net loss at Rs 3/- billion, other income down by 66%
 Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd has reported a net loss of Rs 3/- billion as against a profit of Rs 140.62 million the company reported in the last fiscal. The sales for the year 2000 were 25% higher at Rs 30.21 billion as against Rs 24.19 in the previous year. Other income reduced 65.81% from Rs 2.05 billion to Rs 701.37 million in FY 2000.

 Orient Abrasives net profit at Rs 52.15 million, sales improve 23.27%
 Orient Abrasives Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 52.15 million for the year ended March 31, 2000 as against a loss of Rs 44.37 million for the year ended March 31, 1999. The sale for the year was 23.27% higher at Rs 911.18 million as against Rs 739.17 million in FY 99. On the equity base of Rs 29.92 million the company reported earning of Rs 17.42 per share.

 Triton Valves net profit at Rs 20.3 million, sales up by 17.76%
 Triton Valves Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 20.3 million on a turnover of Rs 314.69 million for the year ended March 31, 2000. The sales and profit for the year 1999 were Rs 266.97 million and Rs 19.2 million respectively. The interest expenditure for the year 2000 was 19% higher at Rs 7.56 million as against Rs 6.37 million in FY 99. The company provided Rs 13.6 million for tax against Rs 9.48 million in FY 99, an increase of 43.49%. On a small equity base of Rs 3.2 million the company reported an EPS of Rs 63.45 against Rs 60 in the previous year.

 BSE revokes suspension on Shalibhadra Infosec Ltd
 BSE had suspended trading in the equity shares of Shalibhadra Infosec Ltd (Scrip Code:- 31773) w.e.f May 08, 2000 as the company had not signed the agreement with NSDL. Since this requirement has now been met with, the Exchange has revoked the suspension w.e.f. July 03, 2000. Thus trading in the said scrip can resume but only in the Rolling Settlement (Scrip Code:- 531773) w.e.f. July 03, 2000.

 BSE resume dealing in 12 scrips
 The members of the Stock Exchange, Mumbai who were earlier advised to refrain from trading in the under mentioned securities have been informed by the Exchange to resume trading in these scrips. The members were advised not to deal in the securities because of non-compliance of listing requirements regarding intimation of dates of closure of Register of Members/Record dates to the Exchange.
