Market@December 15: Day's report

The software stocks remained under strong selling pressure. Himachal and Global Tele wreaked havoc for the software stocks. While Himachal was down more than 14 per cent, Global Tele lost 11 per cent.

Zee Tele, SSI and Satyam lost about 8 per cent each. Other technology stocks also lost susbtantially.

The old economy stocks also came under pressure. ITC and HLL however remained firm for a major part of the day.

Sensex down 130 points at 4140, Nifty down 38 points at 1311.
