Market@August 30: Day's report

The sentiment remained mixed on Wednesday. While Silverline came strong selling pressure, Wipro attracted huge buying interest. Both these counters attracted record volumes.

Silverline dipped more than 9 per cent whereas Wipro gained 3 per cent. Pentamedia also dipped 4 per cent. Himachal, Infosys and SSI showed a negative close.

Meanwhile, the pivotals remained in narrow range. ITC, HLL, MTNL and ACC showed negative close and MTNL closed at its 52-week low of Rs 149.

Sensex up 8 points at 4410, Nifty up 8 points at 1376.
