Market@August 28: Day's report

The software stocks remained under pressure for a major part of the day. Sterlite, Himachal and Infosys showed substantial fall. Whil stocks like Global Tele, Zee Tele and Silverline also remained under pressure. Wipro was the only counter which managed to remain firm for a major part of the day.

SSI, Silverline and Sterlite recorded their all-time high volumes. Meanwhile, the non-software stocks remained firm. Telco recorded a gain of more than 9 per cent.

Sensex down 22 points at 4395, Nifty down 11 points at 1370.
