Market@August 11: Day's report

A large number of software stocks showed a negative close on Friday. Stocks like Pentamedia, Himachal and DSQ soft showed a sharp fall. Wipro was the only stock which remained firm and showed a positive close.

Cement stocks also attracted buying. ACC gained smartly. The index-based counters however remained under pressure and a large number of them showed a negative close. The trading volumes were relatively low on both the exchanges.

Sensex down 60 points at 4193, Nifty down 15 points at 1313.
