 Tata Elxsi Q1 net at Rs 13.52 million
 Tata Elxsi Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 13.52 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 3.97 million in the quarter ended June 30, 99. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 are up by 20.81% at Rs 290.14 million as compared to Rs 240.16 million in the quarter ended June 30, 99. Other income for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 is nil as compared to Rs 1.54 million in the quarter ended June 30, 99.

 West Coast Paper Q1 net up by 198.40%
 West Coast Paper Mills Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 63.34 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 21.23 million in the quarter ended June 30, 99. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 are at Rs 806.23 million as compared to Rs 709.30 million in JQ 99.
Other income for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 is at Rs 13.34 million as compared to Rs 13.77 in JQ 99.
Company has taken up modernisation, expansion & diversification programme with a capital outlay of Rs 2145/- million for increase in the production capacity and technology upgradation of paper, duplex board an cable divisions.

 Kothari Products Q1 net up by 17.56%
 Kothari Products Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 41.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 35.30 million in the same period last year. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 are up by 39.72% at Rs 420.70 million as compared to Rs 301.10 million in the quarter ended June 30, 99.
Other income has fallen from Rs 31.40 million in JQ 99 to Rs 17.60 million in JQ 2000. The Company is setting-up a new factory at Jorhat, Assam for the manufacture of the Companys products. Jorhat has been declared as one of the many tax-free zones by the Central Government, entitled for 100% excise & income tax exemption in addition to several other benefits like subsidy and Sales Tax exemption.

 Hindustan Organic Q1 net loss at Rs 136.80 million
 Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd has posted a net loss of Rs 136.80 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to a net profit of Rs 11.30 million in JQ 99. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 are at Rs 831.60 million as compared to Rs 891.30 million in JQ 99. Other income has decreased from Rs 32/- million in JQ 99 to Rs 28.10 million in JQ 2000.
The unprecedented increase in the crude oil price during the second half of 1999-00 and the consequent increase in petroleum feed-stock prices by more than 50% continued during the first quarter of the year 2000-01. However, the finished product could absorb only the increase, to the extent of 15 to 20% resulting in reduction in margin.

 Gujarat Mineral Development Q1 net at Rs 217.43 million
 Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 217.43 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 196.95 million for JQ 99. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 are at Rs 554.89 million as compared to Rs 560.90 million in JQ 99. Other income has increased from Rs 77.47 million in JQ 99 to Rs 147/- million in JQ 2000.

 BSE has imposed Additional Volatility Margin on the following Scrips for settlement No. 20/2000-2001 commencing on 07 August. 2000, Please note that AVM would be computed on the net outstanding Purchase or Sales positions as may be applicable including carryforward positions at the end of day at the rates given below. The rates of AVM would remain unchanged for the entire settlement.

 ACC commences commercial production at Gagal Unit II
 Associated Cement Companies Ltd has informed the BSE that it has commenced commercial production at Gagal Unit II with effect from July 1 2000. The capacity of the said unit has been increased from 3300 tpd to 4000 tpd at a cost of Rs 305 million.

 Petron Engineering Q1 net down by 36.23%
 Petron Engineering Construction Ltd. has posted a net profit of Rs 13.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 as compared to Rs 20.70 million in the same period last year. Net sales for the quarter ended June 30, 2000 are at Rs 275.20 million as compared to Rs 432.90 million in JQ 99.
Other income has fallen from Rs 5.10 million in JQ 99 to Rs 2.50 million in the quarter ended June 30, 2000.Value of the new orders secured by the company during 4 months up to 31.7.2000 exceed Rs 900 million.
