Jethmalani assures protective legislation for the small investor

Law, Justice and Company Affairs Minister Ram Jethmalani today said that the government would introduce a comprehensive Companies Bill in the winter session of the Lok Sabha as well as initiate judicial reforms to ensure speedy justice to common man.

He said that all reforms to be undertaken arise out of the 1999 agenda of the National Democratic Alliance.

The minister listed eight point national programme to bring about perceptible legal, judicial and corporate reforms within next 100 days of the government.

The government would take steps to strengthen corporate democracy by ensuring adequate protection for the small shareholder and the small investor againt fraud and misappropriation. For this, a legislation relating to companies would be piloted at the earliest.
