IIFT announces international business programme

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade has announced its two-year masters programme in international business for the 1999-2001 term.

Those who have done their bachelor's/master's degreee and passed out with 50 per cent marks or equivalent grades from any recognised university or institution are eligible to apply. Students appearing for qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of the requisite qualification by October 1.

According to a media advertisement, candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test, group discussion and interview. The written test will be held on Sunday January 17, 1999 in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Madras, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Bombay. Group discussion and interview will be at Bangalore, Calcutta, Madras, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Bombay.

The IIFT has set no age limit and has reserved ten seats for foreigners, non-resident Indians and NRI-sponsored candidates. Their selection will be based on the performance in the general management aptitude test or GMAT. The GMAT result declared between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 1998 has to be sent to the IIFT by February 1, 1999.
