Chakradhar Award for Kishori Amonkar

Noted vocalist Kishori Amonkar will receive the Chakradhar Award, instituted by the Chhattisgarh Government, for her remarkable contribution to society.

According to an offical spokesman in Raipur, the Chandulal Chandrakar Award has been awarded to State correspondent of Hindu Arti Dhar. Ramesh Yagnik and Hari Prasad Joshi will jointly share the Yatanlal Award in the field of non-violence.

For social contribution and upliftment of dalits Guru Ghasidas Award will be given to Toratanram Jangde and Rajmahant Jagtu jointly.

The Pt Sundarlal Sharma award for literacy is bagged by Binod Kumar Shukla and Khubchand Baghel award for agriculture by Srikant Govardhan.

For women development, Binni Bai has been selected for the Mini Mata Award and for communal harmony, Keyur Bhusan has been selected for the Ravi Shankar Shukla award.

The Gundadhur Award for sports will be given to Ashish Arora and for folk song, Jhaduram Devangan has been selected for the Dau Mandraji Award.

The awards will be given at a function in Raipur on November 1.
