Tabu breaks new ground!

Komal Nahta

Now, here's something you might not have known.

The Hindi-Marathi bilingual Astitva, produced by Jhamu Sughand and written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, was completed in a record 18 (repeat eighteen) days!

Starring Tabu, Namrata Shirodkar, Mohnish Bahl, Sachin Khedekar and Smita Jayakar, it is the first film to be made simultaneously in Hindi and Marathi.

Both films have been scheduled for release on Friday, October 6.

The film's Marathi version comprises some notable firsts: Tabu, Mohnish Behl and Namrata Shirodkar will be seen on the Marathi screen for the first time.

Sukhwindara Singh, composer of Astitva along with Rahul Ranade, is working in a Marathi film for the first time.

It is also the first Marathi film to be mixed in Dolby Digital Sound.
