Lok Janshakti Party chief Ramvilas Paswan on Monday said he would explore ways to install a "non-Rashtriya Janata Dal, non-Bharatiya Janata Party" government in Bihar.

Paswan, whose party has 30 seats in the assembly, said President's rule was the last option.

"President's rule can be considered if all combinations to cobble together a majority to form the next government fail," Paswan said.

He said he had already written a letter to Governor Buta Singh informing him that the LJP would not be part of any government-formation exercise of the RJD or BJP.

On the possibility of the Janata Dal-United coming together with the LJP, Congress and independents, Paswan said, "It is for the JD-U to take the initiative."

"The relations between the JD-U and Congress are not normal. The JD-U will have to part company with the BJP, which will be difficult for the party that has been an old ally," Paswan said.
