Unfazed by the exit polls predicting a fractured mandate in the Bihar assembly election, the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday said the polls were very rarely correct and were conducted at the "behest of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bhartiya Janata Party."

"We have emerged stronger proving the prophets of doom wrong in every election," Lalu said.

"The exit polls are presenting an untrue picture and are solely aimed at spreading the rumour that the RJD is on its way out," he said. He claimed his party will be in a position to form the government on its own.

On Tuesday, exit polls conducted by various television channels after the second phase of voting had pointed to a hung House in Bihar.
