Congress wins both by-polls in Delhi

Congress won both the assembly by-polls in Delhi.

Rajesh Lilothia defeated his nearest rival Raj Mehra (BJP) to claim the Baljit Nagar constituency by over 6,000 votes. The constituency was earlier represented by Krishna Tirath who was elected to Parliament.

In Rajouri Garden constituency, Ramesh Lamba defeated Ramesh Khanna (BJP) by a margin of 3,649 votes. The constituency was earlier represented by Ajay Maken who was also elected to Parliament.
