Polling days to be paid public holiday: EC

The Election Commission on Sunday declared that the polling days will be considered as paid public holidays for all the government employees in the districts of Jammu and Kashmir for the four-phased assembly election starting from Monday.

The Commission said the holiday would be observed in all central and state government offices besides public sector undertakings.

Five border districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri and Kargil are going to polls on Monday in the first phase of the polls.
