Six people injured in landmine explosion in J&K

Election 2002

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

At least six people, including five personnel of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force, were injured on Thursday morning in a powerful landmine explosion at Turkwangan village near Shopian in the south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Police sources said a private bus carrying the CRPF soldiers hit a landmine, triggering an explosion in which the bus was completely destroyed.

The injured were immediately shifted to a local hospital. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
