  • Talha Jubair became the 60th player to represent Bangladesh in LOIs. At 16 years, 287 days he becomes the third youngest Bangladeshi and the seventh youngest overall to appear in a LOI match.

  • Khaled Mahmud's two wickets has taken his career tally to 30 in 31 matches. He now has the maximum wickets for Bangladesh in LOIs. He went past the record of 28 wickets held by former pace bowler Hasibul Hossain.

  • Mohammad Ashraful's 3-26 was his best bowling performance of his career. His previous best was the 1-24 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo on 11-4-2001. It was also the best bowling performance by a Bangladeshi bowler against New Zealand and in the competition.

  • During his knock of 31 runs Stephen Fleming became the highest run-getter for New Zealand in these championships since 1998. Fleming now has 213 runs in 7 matches. He went past the previous tally of 203 runs held by left-hander Roger Twose, who made these runs in just three matches.

  • The partnership of 66 runs between Fleming and Matthew Sinclair was New Zealand's best for the 2nd wicket in this competition bettering the previous best of 53 runs between Craig Spearman and Fleming against Zimbabwe at Nairobi on 9-10-2000.

  • Shane Bond's 4-21 was the best bowling performance for New Zealand against Bangladesh bettering the 3-19 by both Chris Cairns and Gavin Larsen in the same match at Chelmsford on 17-5-1999.

  • Bangladesh's 77 was its second lowest team score in LOIs. The team just managed to go past its lowest ever total by just one run. Bangladesh were dismissed for 76 by Sri Lanka at this ground last month on 5-8-2002.

  • Bangladesh's 77 was now the lowest team total in the competition. Holland had earlier made 86 against Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium on 16-9-2002.

  • The victory by 167 runs was New Zealand's second biggest in a 50-over match after its 206 runs win against Australia at Adeliade on 27-1-1986.

  • This was Bangladesh's 52nd loss in LOIs out of the 55 matches it has played so far since March 1986. This was also its 20th consecutive loss since 8-10-1999.

  • Shane Bond received his second man-of-the-match award in 15 matches. His only other award came against Australia at Adelaide on 26-1-2002, which incidentally had come in his 5th match of his career.
