  • Naseer Hussian (75) when on 46 runs became the 12th Englishman and 101th batsman overall to reach 2000 career runs in LOIs.

  • During his above innings Hussain became England's highest scorer against Zimbabwe. He now has 514 runs in 16 matches. He went past the aggregate of 449 runs (in 14 matches) by teammate Nick Knight.

  • The partnership of 141 runs between Marcus Trescothick and Hussain was England's best against Zimbabwe for the second wicket. The pair bettered the previous best of 112 runs between Nick Knight and Hussain at Harare on 6-10-2001.

  • Trescothick (119) recorded his fourth hundred in 45 matches. This was however his first hundred for a winning side. His previous three hundreds have all resulted in losses for England.

  • Trescothick's 119 was now the highest by an Englishman against Zimbabwe obliterating the 101 by Alec Stewart at Birmingham on 18-7-2000.

  • Trescothick's score was now the best for England in this competition. Hussain's 95 against Bangladesh at Nairobi on 5-10-2000 was the previous best for England.

  • England's 298-8 was its highest against Zimbabwe. The previous highest was the 280-9 at Bulawayo on 10-10-2001.

  • The above score was also the second best by a team in this competition after India's 307-8 against Australia at Dhaka on 28-10-1998.

  • The 38 run partnership between Heath Streak and Ray Price was Zimbabwe's best for the 9th wicket against England, which betters the previous best of 31 runs between Streak and Paul Strang at Birmingham on 18-7-2000.

  • The above partnership was also the best for this wicket at this ground. The previous best was the 33 runs put on by the Indian pair of Sameer Dighe and Zaheer Khan against the home team on 5-8-2001.

  • The Streak-Price partnership was also the best for the 9th wicket in this competition. The pair bettered the previous best of 32 runs between Kenyans Thomas Odoyo and Martin Suji against India at Nairobi on 3-10-2000.

  • Ronnie Irani (4-37) recorded the best bowling figures for England in this competition. The previous best was the 3-48 by Mark Ealham against Bangladesh at Nairobi on 5-10-2000.

  • The win by 108 runs was England's best against Zimbabwe in terms of runs. England's previous best was its win by 85 runs at Harare on 20-2-2000.

  • England, who had lost six of its initial eight matches to Zimbabwe from 18 March 1992 to 28 January 2000, have now won its last 13 matches out of the 14 it has played against Zimbabwe since 30 January 2000. This was also England's ninth consecutive win against Zimbabwe since 13-7-2000.
