  • The partnership of 64 runs between Brian Lara and Carl Hooper was the best for the West Indies against Kenya for the third wicket bettering the previous best of 38 runs between Wavell Hinds and Marlon Samuels at Nairobi on 19-8-2001. The Lara-Hooper partnership was also best for the West Indies for the third wicket in this competition obliterating the previous best of 46 between S Chanderpaul and Hooper against South Africa at the SSC ground , Colombo on 13-9-2002.

  • The partnership of 57 runs between Lara and Ramnaresh Sarwan was the best for the West Indies for the 4th wicket in this competition just eclipsing the previous best of 55 runs between Philo Wallace and Hooper against South Africa at Dhaka on 1-11-1998.

  • Lara, in his 203rd match, registered his 15th hundred of his career. His last hundred (116 not out) before this one came against Australia at Sydney on 17-01-2001. Since then Lara has appeared in 25 matches and 24 innings without a single three figure knock. During this period he has aggregated 729 runs (avg. 38.37) with six scores in the fifties.

  • Lara's 111 was the second hundred by a West Indian in this competition. Former opener Philo Wallace had made 103 against South Africa at Dhaka on 1-11-1998.

  • The second and third wicket partnerships between Ravindu Shah and Brijal Patel of 44 runs and the between Patel and Tikolo of 50 runs respectively were the best for Kenya against the West Indies.

  • The 93 by Steve Tikolo was the highest for Kenya in this tournament. Ravindu Shah's 60 against India at Nairobi on 3-10-2000 was the previous best.

  • Tikolo's 93 was also the highest by a Kenyan batsman against West Indies. Tikolo himself had made 71 at Nairobi on 19-8-2001.

  • For Tikolo it was his second score in the nineties. He had made 96 against Sri Lanka at Kandy on 6-3-1996. He remains the only Kenyan batsman to register scores in the nineties in LOIs.

  • Pedro Collins (3-18 in 9.1 overs) recorded his best bowling figures of LOI career bettering his previous best of 3-33 (9 overs) against New Zealand at Gros Islet (St Lucia) on 8-6-2002. This was his 16th match.
