Hansie Cronje in his last interview spoke frankly of his shame, but insisted: "Life moves on, hey .... I think it's important to put that chapter behind me and move on." The former South African cricket captain, the prime perpetrator of the match-fixing scandal, died last week when the cargo plane he was travelling in crashed into a mountain range in South Africa. England’s Ian Botham remarked that it is unfortunate that Cronje, South Africa’s most successful skipper will be forgotten for the good things he did and will be remembered only for the wrong reasons.
