Essar Cellphone's 'First Mobile Card'Essar Cellphone has launched the first cell phone card aimed at prospective customers who would like to first try out their service before taking up full subscription. To make the card lucrative, it is being offered without the levy of any subscription charges at the point of entry.
The First Mobile Card is an introductory offer and is valid up to November 15 and is non-rechargeable. After the validity period, customers using the First Mobile Card can have an option to go in for subscription to Essar cell phone's Plan One airtime offer and avail Rs 3,000 worth of free airtime bonus. For customers subscribing to the Plan One offer, no activation fee would be levied, however they would be required to pay Rs 2,200 as a one-time membership fee against which Rs 3,000 worth of airtime bonus would be provided. Essar Cellphone Chief Marketing Officer Atanu Mandal says that ''With TRAI's setting the November 1 deadline for implementing CPP (calling party pays) and the new tariff levels, many customers are waiting for free incoming calls and affordable cellular services. The First Mobile Card and Plan One offers are primarily aimed at such customers because both these offers allow customers to migrate to the new tariff plan without the need to wait till November 1. Customers have also been offered the choice to directly subscribe to Plan One airtime offer without going in for First Mobile Card. However, for customers going in for First Mobile Card and then subscribing to Plan One airtime, any unutilised airtime left on their card would be credited to their first bill. In addition, on subscription to Plan One airtime offer the customer would be charged at a lower airtime rate. UNI |
