Monitor-less Presario sells for Rs 29,995Compaq Computer India has launched its multimedia personal computer Presario 4010 at a price of Rs 29,995, exclusive of the monitor.Buyers can choose between a 15" colour monitor priced at Rs 9,995 or a 17" colour monitor for Rs 15,995.
The PC comes with free software worth Rs 15,000 and 10 hours of free Internet time. In addition, the keyboard allows one-touch access to the Net and enables browsing, Web search and email. The announcement is strategic as it helps Compaq make inroads into the existing PC market by offering an attractive upgrade path. In addition, for price-conscious consumers, the Compaq Presario 4010 allows the option of purchasing a feature-rich PC in a phased manner without compromising on their investment. Compaq gives consumers a choice of peripherals to go with the Compaq Presario 4010 multimedia PC. Consumers can buy the PC with a modem for Rs 32,995. A colour printer comes for an extra Rs 3,400 and a scanner for Rs 3,500 complete the package for those who require these add-ons.
