IRS satellite series gets Y2K compliantThe Indian Remote Sensing Satellite System that includes the IRS series of satellites has become Y2K compliant.
The space segment has been assessed to be "Y2K indifferent" while the ground segment, including the MCF has been rectified to make it Y2K compliant. With this, INSAT operations and services would be maintained through the millennium transition. The IRS data reception station at the national remote sensing agency in Hyderabad is acquiring Y2K compliance soon. ISRO has initiated a programme of policies and procedures to ensure that all its systems, facilities and services are maintained through the millennium transition and has undertaken rectification or replacement of those systems that were not Y2K compliant, the release added.
