Mastech jumps into e-business frayMastech Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of information technology services, has announced the launch of its 'e-business practice'.E-business being a high-demand and dynamic industry, Mastech aims at enhancing and expanding its services and customer base through organic growth, partnerships and acquisitions.
The group helps clients leverage the Internet and leading edge technologies to increase operational efficiencies and market share by effectively deploying intranets, extranets, and e-commerce solutions, as well as by Web enabling and integrating systems. "Industry sources estimate that revenues from Web related consulting and systems integration will grow at over 60 per cent annually over the next several years to over $20 billion by 2002," said Sunil Wadhwani, Mastech's co-chairman and CEO. "We have been working on e-business projects for some time, and now plan to scale up quickly to become a leader in this market." S Shekar, managing director, Mascot Systems Private Limited, said, "Over the last 12 months, Mascot has invested heavily in building internet solutions with the creation of competency centres for Internet based solutions including Microsoft and Java technology. We already have strategic relationship with Sun Microsystems at Bangalore. We have already done leading edge projects for customers in the telecom retail sectors and believe that we can leverage this to other verticals too." |
