VSNL, MTNL ensure cleaner Net connectivity in Bombay

The Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited in co-operation with the Department of Telecommunication and the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited has now implemented and commissioned a scheme of direct Internet connectivity from all the major exchanges in Bombay to the VSNL Internet hubs at Prabhadevi and Fountain.

According to a VSNL statement issued in Bombay today, the scheme

involves connecting 30 telephone lines directly routed from local exchanges to VSNL's remote access servers.

Similar servers are also being installed at Madras, Calcutta and other nodes.

VSNL also intends to showcase a number of new advanced technologies at the Communication '98 event, the statement said.
