Mitsubishi, M&M deny rift, to continue tie-up for Voyager
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation of Japan today clarified that it has not received any partnership proposals from Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. In contrast to the reports which appeared in a section of press, a joint statement issued by MMC and M&M said that it is wrong to say that MMC has rejected M&M's proposals. No such proposals were ever made by the Mahindras other than the existing technical tie-up for manufacturing Voyager in India. Clarifying their position pertaining to the association between the two companies, the statement said that the existing tie-up for Voyager continued as before and all the royalty payments with regard to Voyager were being made as scheduled. Yesterday in Delhi, Mitsubishi had said in a statement that all proposals from M&M had been put in cold storage. The statement was silent on the fate of its existing tie-up for Voyager. However, today's joint statement said that both MMC and M&M would like to express their complete satisfaction with existing amicable relationship between the two companies. Both companies intend to work together to further the success of the Voyager project. UNI
