After a 90-minute meeting, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil [ Images ] said the meeting was inconclusive: "We met today and the talks were inconclusive. We will meet again tomorrow."
Tuesday's talks will be held a day ahead of the all party meet, the second such exercise in a week, to be chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [ Images ].
In Monday's meeting, the delegation members made various suggestions to resolve the dispute but the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ], which was represented by Arun Jaitley [ Images ], stressed on implementing the order of the division bench of Jammu and Kashmir [ Images ] High Court.
As per the orders, the land will be handed over to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for a period of two months during the yatra when pre-fabricated structures can be erected. However, as per the order, the ownership of the land will remain unchanged.
The delegation had a two-day visit to the state where it held talks with Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, spearheading the over month-long agitation in Jammu, besides holding parleys with leaders from Kashmir valley. Summing up the visit, Patil said he was hopeful of a peaceful solution to the problem.
The home minister spoke to Governor N N Vohra and the state police chief to take stock of the situation.
Monday's meeting was attended among others by Union Ministers Raghuvansh Prasad, Saif-ud-din Soz and Prithviraj Chavan [ Images ], former state chief ministers Farooq Abdullah [ Images ] and Ghulam Nabi Azad [ Images ] and Amar Singh [ Images ] and Sitaram Yechury [ Images ].
