Sunitha, Amritraj fail to progress at Wimbledon June 18, 2008 20:46 IST Sunitha Rao and Prakash Amritraj failed to advance in the Wimbledon qualifiers, both going down the second round on Wednesday. Sunitha, India's second-highest ranked player, lost 4-6, 2-6 to 15th seed Russian Olga Poutchkova. On Tuesday night, Amritraj put up a spirited performance but lost to 13th seeded Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky 3-6, 6-1, 3-6. Stakhovsky won his maiden ATP title at Zagreb earlier this year. Sania Mirza [Images], who has been seeded 32, will carry Indian hopes in the singles event of the third Grand Slam of the year while Mahesh Bhupathi [Images] and Leander Paes [Images] will present their challenge in the doubles event though with different partners.
