Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Monday said Muslims in the country are trying to increase their representation in Lok Sabha and asked Hindus to foil their attempt.

Addressing a party workers' meeting on the occasion of 40th anniversary of Shiv Sena in Mumbai on Monday, Thackeray said, "We will even take help of Naxalites" to thwart this.

The Sena chief said the government should hold talks with Naxals to resolve their grievances.

"If they can hold negotiations with Muslim terrorists, why can't they do the same with Naxals?" he said.

Thackeray accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi of "initiating" the idea of reservation for Muslims in the armed forces and police service.

Thackeray said Shiv Sena workers would make efforts to keep the saffron flag flying by retaining the party's hold in Mumbai and Thane municipal corporations.

Thackeray welcomed a few Sena workers who had left the party recently back into the Sena-fold.

These include student leader Raja Chougale who had joined Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray.
