Six policemen were killed in a landmine blast in Bihar's Munger district on Wednesday, officials said.
Munger Superintendent of Police K C Surendra Babu, his bodyguard and driver were among those killed in the blast, triggered by the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist).
District Magistrate R S B Singh said the naxalites detonated the landmine through a remote control when the jeep carrying the cops reached near Gangta (Bhimbandh).
The naxalites looted the slain policemen's firearms.
Director General of Police Narayan Mishra held a meeting in Patna and instructed the police to launch an intensive combing operation.
Chief Minister Rabri Devi strongly condemned the killing and directed the police to bring the culprits to book.
