Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Saturday said global solutions are required to meet the challenges posed by terrorism.
Addressing the Asian-African Summit in Jakarta, Dr Singh said the absence of consensual international order has created insecurity in the world.

"Our countries have our own distinct perspectives on measures to combat international terrorism," Dr Singh said adding that "we are well-equipped to initiate and sustain meaningful dialogues among civilisations, instead of subscribing to the theory of the so-called clash of civilisations. Our voice must be heard in this regard."
New structures of mutual support, solidarity and cooperation should be created to ensure that benefit of best practices and appropriate technologies are made available to all, Dr Singh told the assembly of leaders of 106 countries.
He said that along with opportunities, globalisation brings with it new challenges.
"The globalisation of disease and insecurity and the management of scarce natural resources are challenges that confront us. A cooperative and consensual international security order eludes us, and its consequence is insecurity, not common
security," he said.
