Geelani aide shot dead in Srinagar

Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday shot dead Pir Hisamuddin, political secretary to separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani [ Images ], at his house in Bemina locality in Srinagar [ Images ], official sources said.

The gunmen forced their way into Hisamuddin's house at around 1130 IST and pumped bullets into him before fleeing from the scene, the sources said.

Hisamuddin was a lawyer and hailed from Sopore town of Baramulla district.
