Security forces have taken into custody a woman and her daughter for their alleged links with Hizbul Mujaheedin at Banihal tehsil of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir [ Images ], official sources said on Saturday.
The security forces took 40-year-old Shama Begum and her 17-year-old daughter Parveen into custody after they intercepted a wireless transmission on September 7 in which Parveen, who was travelling in a vehicle along with her mother, was found talking with a Hizbul commander.
She was talking about the escape of a militant and the questioning of her mother by troops in this regard, they said.
Both have been handed over to police for further investigation.
