Manmohan Singh refuses to change for swearing-in ceremony May 20, 2004 12:52 IST Prime Minister designate Manmohan Singh is a simple man. Which is why he will wear his "regular clothes" when he is sworn in as prime minister by President A P J Abdul Kalam, possibly on Saturday. Asked by reporters whether special clothes had been ordered for the swearing-in ceremony, his wife Gursharan Kaur said, "He will wear his regular clothes." "I think he will be uncomfortable if he has to wear special clothes," she added with a smile on her face. Singh usually wears a white pyjama kurta and sports a light blue turban.
