The University of Mumbai's department of music offers a short-term, part-time certificate course in music composition and direction.

The course aims at developing a proper understanding of the subject and providing an authentic working knowledge in this field. It also includes practical exercises aimed at giving a first-hand experience in the subject, thereby generating experiment-induced thinking.

The course consists of 60 lectures and lecture-demonstrations spread over 15 weeks. The lectures will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm (two lectures per day) on Mondays and Wednesdays at the department of music.

Well-known music director and composer Anil Mohile will conduct the course with the help of well-known music directors, composers and singers.
