Yatra over, youths start clean-up job

For the first time youths from eight states, as part of a national integration camp, have launched a clean-up operation on the hills along the route of the Amarnath Yatra [ Images ], which concluded on Monday.

"Three to four hundred youths have converged at Sonamarg base camp to clean the hills of poly-bags and other items left by the pilgrims during the one-and-a-half month yatra," Jammu and Kashmir [ Images ] Minister of Roads and Buildings Gulam Ahmed Mir said.

Mir who inaugurated the seven-day camp, organised by the Nehru Yuva [ Images ] Kender.

A record number of over three lakh pilgrims undertook the yatra, Mir added.
